6-reawaken-The next fight Your_hospital_bed_by_emo_cuddle_bea

Cool air wafted through the pearly white room. It’s scent, laced with chemicals and crisp silk sheets. Soft hums, and whirls and beeps from some device that read everything they needed to know about kasumi. His blood pressure, his brain activity, his heartbeat. Even his rieatsu levels where measured on a careful scale.

Six days, one hundred and forty four hours of the deepest sleep any living thing can withstand, without death. And a hundred and forty four hours of heart crushing worry.

“We’ve found it this morning. His brain activity his heightened, so has his muscle function. His rieatsu readings are returning to their normal levels as well.” A Thin, deathly pale Shinigami from the 12th division motioned to the various scales and monitors showing what was reading what. Shuunske stood at the foot of Kasumi’s bed. Nodding in turn with what the boy was saying. His clearer blue eye’s glued to the monitor as though it was the one talking to him, and not the figure standing next to it.

“With these readings we have deduced that he should awaken in the next four or five hours.” The shinigami replied with no emotion. He saw as Shuunske’s face relaxed with relief. They turned to Hiiro, who hadn’t yet even looked at the machine at Kasumi's feet. She stayed by his bedside. Her eye’s watered over and misty with tears sure to come.
“…. He is going to wake up…” Hiiro repeated, her voice soft. She had not yet put up her hair since they had returned, with Kasumi in such a critical condition and the rest of the 11th division trailing Shuunske in boxes. Torn beyond any hope of repair. Her hair seemed darker, a deeper crimson then it was before. Pushed over her shoulder and cascading down her back.

A warm, soft hand rubbed Kasumis shoulder softly. And a quiet smile of gratitude on her face.
“He will be here…again with us?” She looked away from Kasumi to look to the 12th division Shinigami.
“Yes, his injuries are manageable and his brain function is as crisp as it ever was.” He turned to Shuunske with his hands pressed to his sides bowing slightly.
“Captain Shuunske-sama. If you would care to join me to the research lab there are other statistics that I have been informed to show you.” He remained in a bowed position his hands placed firmly at his sides. It was clear that formality was beaten into the 12th division. Hiiro knew from experience, that it wasn’t good to take any chances when you are around Muriasachi-sama.

“Yes I will accompany you.” Shuunske gave the softest grin and turned to Hiiro. “5th seat Hiiro-chan. Would you like to join us?” He inquired turning to her. Hiiro looked up, away from Kasumi and to Shuunske.
“No thank you…if you don’t mind Shuunske-sama, I would like to stay here.” She answered looking back to Kasumi.

“Alright.” Shuunske looked back at the 12th division Shinigami who was still watching with a raised eyebrow but hurried ahead quickly. Walking past His 5th seat, he gave her a small smile before piveting on his heels. His Haori snapping in the movement and he followed the shinigami out. The door closing behind him with a soft snap of wood hitting wood.

Then there was silence; the room seemed to remain motionless as she was left alone. Looking down at him with soft brown eye’s Hiiro gave a small shaky sigh before taking a chair from the far wall and pulled it next to his bed. She didn’t want to leave him. Not when he could wake at any moment. Hiiro had spent most of her time waiting in this room; she could wait, just a little bit longer. Time passed and she felt her eyelid’s grow heavy. Leaning down she rested her arms upon the corner of the bed, next to his hip she rested her temple against her arms. One, dreamy eye, half lidded watching him. Waiting for him to awake.

It wasn’t even late afternoon, she didn’t know how she could be so tired. Emotional strain, Hiiro guessed. She had been with Shuunske when the shinigami came to them quickly. She swore her heart stopped for a moment and she almost cried. It was wonderful, the thought of him being awake. It seemed like eons since she had seen his eyes. Hurrying to his room, everything seemed to be a blur. The words of the shinigami became a muddled humming that made no difference to her.

He was waking up; she didn’t care about the science of it. Not that she would have understood him anyway. The shinigami enjoyed trying to stump them with big words. Such as encephalon, which Shuunske explained was some Latin way of saying the brain. Normally, the 12th division’s need to make her feel like a mentally stunted child would have angered her. But right now it didn’t matter.

Her eyes grew heavier still and she snuggled into the soft silk sheets of Kasumi’s bed. She could hear his steady breathing, soft, and quiet. Soothing her even in the state he was in.

“Kasumi-kun?”
“.. Yes Hiiro-chan?” Kasumi was sitting against the tree, his white and blue academy uniform upon his shoulders, and his zanbaktou resting next to him. Hiiro was perched in the tree; her uniform exactly the same other then the colors for the female academy students were red, not blue.

“When do you think Kifuume-kun will wake up? He’s been out cold for twenty minutes now.” She replied bluntly looking down at the darker red haired idiot. He was placed on the ground, his eye’s closed and his mouth hung open slightly. A rather large lump remained on his head. Kasumi gave a small laugh and shrugged.
“Whenever he wants to.”
“He should stop fighting Shuunske-san all the time…it’s going to get him killed one of these days.” She huffed before falling against the tree, her leg still hanging off the edges of the branch.

“All we can do is wait.” He looked to Kifuume and sighed. “He will wake up eventually, he always does.”
“Yeah…I guess your right.”

Hiiro’s eye’s closed and she drifted of into a careful sleep. Left in a half sleep, still keeping her ears perked for any movement. She would wait, just wait, until he would come back to her.

6-reawaken-The next fight Empty
PostSubject: Re: 6-reawaken-The next fight   6-reawaken-The next fight I_icon_minitimeTue Jul 13, 2010 3:03 am

It was the only thing he could remember. The pain of the sword as the crazed girl bashed her blade into him, giving his body to protect Hiiro. The anger in her eyes was diffused by the selflessness in his own. Then another moment later, he was on the ground. He could remember the snow, the coldness that seemed to echo around him. There was someone else standing over him. He was still in pain. Wet. Wet in what? It was warm, and did not stop coming. Blood? Yes yes. It was blood. He remembered now. The sword had drawn blood from him.

The two figures standing over him – who were they? They were black against the almost full moon. No, it was full. Completely full. Who were they. They were speaking, but he could not make out the words they were saying. Why was memory so unreliable? Why was dream so much more unreliable? The speaking only came to him in tones. Eyes closing and re opening from the lack of ability to keep them open, he knew that he was about to fade. He knew he was out. This time, for good. There was nothing more for him. Who was the second shadow? The other person? Was Hiiro safe? Where was she? Was she okay? Had he protected her? Had he done his job?

Closing his eyes for the final time, he could once again feel himself fade, only this time, a fading that had no hope of returning. He could no longer fight the battle to live. His eyes drifted slowly, and he saw the image of the two above him fade. Was he being touched? What was happening.

Then he remembered.

Pain exploded over his body as heat rose within his vein. It all happened in a single second before his eyes shot open once more. The blaze lit up the face of Hiiro. What was she doing? Why was this pain coming from her? Why was she doing this? That was not what mattered. She was safe. She was alive. Amidst all the pain, Kasumi knew that he had smiled. He had smiled for a brief second before the pain lashed back, and whipped him into another mentality. Like a caged beast, tortured. Like he was helpless. Like he had lost the war, and won the battle. Like in the big picture, he was nothing. The pain was over whelming, and he saw her face again.

Light came over the two of them, and the pain was gone. He was standing alone. No. Not alone. He was looking straight into the eyes of Kifuume. Only, what was this blank stare? Kifuume could not see him? Then there were others? It was dark. Kifuume was silent, and so was he. There was no recognition what so ever. Where was he?

The question was wiped clear from his mind as his view was opened to many other shinigami wrapped around the area. Only, something was off. The shinigami were frozen. This dream was playing an illusion on him. No. Once again, he was playing an illusion on himself. He was here. But he did not know where “here” was. All the sudden Kifuume fell, blood coming from his head. Everything was still once again, and the light faded of the dream, or vision.

He could feel again, but not see. Blackness overtook any dream once more. The kind of black that seemed to be present at the end of any sleep, the type that wiped all memory of dreams or even having them from your psyche – from your entire consciousness.

He could feel the feeling of pillows on his face, he could feel many things. But mostly he could feel the pins and needles that stuck in him over his entire body that made his still lest the pins turn to blades in his sides.

Consciousness was given back to him finally. He could breathe once more. He could feel the feeling of the aching in his chest where he had been attacked. But this was over shadows by the aching guilt in his heart as he became aware of the presence on him. His eyes still closed, Kasumi felt the head of Hiiro on his arms. She was okay after all. A smile rose over him, but quickly was drawn back as even that amount of movement created the pins and needle's pain. He did not care.

His eyes still closed, Kasumi opened his mouth to speak. “Hiiro-chan, is that you?” He asked even though he knew, his tone of the bitter most sweetness that he had ever used, as if he was being given another chance to fulfill what he had almost failed to do earlier. As if his reason for living was being given back to him in the form of a beautiful girl in his arms. A blessing in many ways.

Kasumi opened his eyes. “I am glad you are okay, Hiiro-chan.” As he said this, Kasumi moved his arm and hand, ignoring the pain of the needles in it, and brushed her cheek softly before once again smiling. “I missed you while I was gone.” Kasumi said, his smile remaining as a tear fell from his cheek. He was so in love without a way to admit it. He was still a chicken, and he had almost died without being able to say it. Death without such a release would be his worst nightmare. Worse than a nightmare. Worse than anything. He just did not know how to tell her?

“But I am back now. For good. I promise. I will never scare you like that again.”

Kasumi's other arm moved, moving until it cradled her face on the other side. Pulling her the slightest bit closer as a lover would do before a kiss, Kasumi stopped. He could not. Instead he only offered a larger and cuter smile. Before he placed her head on the bed, and retracted his hands, instead using them as a support to push himself up.

The amount of movement caused an extreme pain, and numbing, but he pushed himself anyways. The covers fell from his form until his chest was uncovered, aside from the scar that was covered by a heavy bandaging. It was white without any trace of red as if it has just been changed only hours ago, and he had not had a chance yet to re open his wound. Aside from this, there was no other scaring and his muscular body flexed to its potential for being in such a fragile position.

“I need a hug. I want to know I am actually here again. I want to know this is not a dream...”

6-reawaken-The next fight Empty
PostSubject: Re: 6-reawaken-The next fight   6-reawaken-The next fight I_icon_minitimeThu Jul 15, 2010 11:08 am

Hiiro had drifted into a soft half sleep. Her eye’s closed and her head resting gently upon the white silk of Kasumi’s bed. Her head just barely brushing up against his side.

Her body stirred as a soft voice carried over to her ears. For a moment she thought that Shuunske had come to rouse her from her sleep. It had not been the first time she was found asleep at Kasumi’s bedside. However the familiarity of the voice settled in and her eye’s opened wide as her heart skipped a beat.

“Kasumi?” she lifted her head quickly, pushing herself up a bit so she could look at him. His eye’s remained closed and yet. Every small movement he made told her he was awake. Slight turns of his head, to breath. Tears formed in her eyes and she smiled warmly. Taking his hand in hers and squeezing it once, feeling the warmth of his hand. She could just die of relief right here and now. “ I’m here.” She answered him.

He was awake, alive and here with her again. Tears of happiness threatened to fall down her face and she couldn’t tear herself away from him. Carefully his eye’s opened. Looking up at her as though he had simply just woken up from a nap. Each word, though his voice still weak, reverberated into her making her smile wider and a look of heart melting bliss upon her face.

“I missed you, so much…” she reached foreword and gently wiped the stray tear from his face. It was rare for her to see him cry. She felt such a strong urge to comfort him whenever she saw the rare glisten in his eyes. But this time she knew they were tears of happiness as well.

Affection lit her eye’s, still glassy from her own tears. Through her thoughts and mind shattering worry, though the horrible six days she had realized how much she loved this man. This reckless honorable man whom she had known for far too many years. Seeing him now, alive, awake, and saying how much he had missed her. Something clicked in her mind and she knew that her feelings were true. She loved him, more then she had ever loved someone before.

“But I am back now. For good. I promise. I will never scare you like that again.”

Her breath hitched in her throat and she stroked the back of his hand that was placed on her cheek. Her body quivering lightly with emotions and tears fell down her pinkish cheeks. She gave a small chuckled.

“You better not.” She laughed trying to compose herself a little, glancing away from Him, looking to the hand that rubbed her cheek softly. “I don’t know what I would do if you did again…” Her words trailed off as his other hand cupped her cheek. Her heart fluttered suddenly and Hiiro’s words fell silent. Feeling her face drawn closer, she wanted to kiss him. For a stray moment her whole mind stopped.

…And then he smiled, his hands falling softly from her face and pressing against the bed. Her Face stayed stationary for a moment before she drew back slightly so she wasn’t leaning to heavily over the bed something heavy fell into her chest. Her face flushed slightly, and she chewed on the inside of her lip. It was foolish of her, to think of things like that. He must have seen her a friend, and nothing more. She told herself bitterly.

Not to mention…what you have done to him

Kasumi pressed his hands against the bed and pushed himself up, making Hiiro’s eye’s widen in alarm.
“Kasumi your still hurt-“ Her voice cut off as the covers fell from his chest, pooling at his waist. Revealing his sculpted chest but also the huge gash that was upon his chest. Still healing she knew it would leave some sort of a scar, the Gash he had gotten because he was trying to protect her, and a pain she tripled once that rouge Shinigami escaped.

Her eye’s watched in pain as his body flinched and stiffened at the large wound upon his chest. A wound she had helped create. Looking away her eye’s cast to the ground for a moment as guilt overwhelmed her. She could hear his screams echo into her mind and another tear fell down her face. Not a tear of happiness but of horrible guilt and pain.

How do you expect this man to love you after what you have done to him?

“I need a hug. I want to know I am actually here again. I want to know this is not a dream...”

She looked up into his eyes. Looking pained now, her shoulders slumped and her hands placed gently onto her lap. She felt like she wasn’t even fit to touch him. Casting a small glanced up into his eyes. Oh, but his eye’s. They always did something to her that made her feel better; that he was able to somehow forgive what she had done to him.

Pressing on hand against the bed she pushed herself forward quickly wrapping an arm around his neck, and burying her face into the nape of his neck crying. He was real, solid and warm. But damaged, because of what she had done. Her other arm wrapped under her arm hugging his torso. Feeling the soft cotton binding around his chest. Hugging him closer, but she was gentle. Worried that she would hurt him any more then she already had. Guilt choked her and tears fell freely down her cheeks and onto his skin.

“I’m so sorry.” She spoke against his skin; a horrible pain in her heart throbbed like a sword was lodged into it and refused to move.
“Kasumi I’m so sorry…It’s all my fault your like this.” She hugged him tightly, her whole body shaking in the weight of the remorse she was feeling.

6-reawaken-The next fight Empty
PostSubject: Re: 6-reawaken-The next fight   6-reawaken-The next fight I_icon_minitimeSat Jul 24, 2010 4:42 am

The lights all started hitting Kasumi at once, not having noticed them before hand. Looking into the glare his head started to throb. Nothing was wanted more than to see Hiiro at this moment, and yet the happiness he had expected was not there to a point that he could see. And neither was the anger that he had almost expected from her. Only sadness.

He felt Hiiro fall against him, her warm body pressed to his. He was sore but the pain flew away as he touched her. A smile crossed his lips, and he wanted nothing more in the world than to kiss her. But his eyes closed in denial. It was not allowed, and uncalled for. She was different than him. He could not admit anything. He was still weak, not only physically, but mentally. He did not have what it took.

Instead he buried his head in the girls red hair, stopping tears from coming. Years of happiness that would normally flow if he were alone. But hecould not show another sign of weakness to Hiiro. She had already seen enough.

"Why are you sorry Hiiro-chan. I am here now. Dont worry. I missed you more than anything."

As he spoke he held her closer than ever, almost squeezing her. There seemed to be a much needed silence as they soaked in each others energy, Kasumi more happy to be holding Hiiro than words could describe.

"Hiiro-chan, please do not blame yourself for me being like this. All I am now is happy. In that way, yes it is your fualt. Every time I see you I am happy. I am happy to protect you, and I happy as long as you are happy, and as long as I am in your presence. That is all you have to blame on yourself. Not my pain. Only my happiness. And my pain only comes when you are not there for me to hold..."

Kasumi almost laughed as he said all of this, a nervous laugh as a slight color of pink over shadowed his face, blush taking over. Why did he love this girl so much? Was it normal? He would jump so easily in front of a blade to see her happy.

Was that normal?

Sounds started to get louder and louder as his senses further returned, the beeping and booping of the machines that surounded him. Looking to his right, Kasuim saw the scanner that held the waves on the screen, telling if he was living or not, with every detail from his pulse and heart rate to his body temperature. The scanner started to beep at a normal rate, and the waves evened out.

Letting Hiiro from his grasp he looked at his arm, a small pain that he only just now noticed turning into the prick of the needles that had been pushed up his arm. Kasumi shuddered, and grabbed them, pausing before he slowly pulled them out. The pulse machine went dead and a constant beep was aroused.

Almost at once Kasumi heard the sound of feet outside his door, and only ten seconds later, three shinigami from the 12th division came in to the room. Each was holding something different, one with a mask over his mouth. They looked out of breath and upon seeing him alive they stopped panting, and started to try and hold their breath, attempting the most respectful posture they could put up.

"Kasumi-san. It is good to see you have awoken."

"It is good to be awake. How long was I out may I ask?"

"A good two and a half weeks Kasumi-san. The injury was far worse than we had imagined. The blade that you came in contact with grazed your heart ever so slightly, but enough to keep you from an easy heal. Furthermore, Hiiro-san here was the one that made sure you lived with her own medical arrangements. We are very thankful to you Hiiro-san."

Kasumi gasped upon the news. Two and a half weeks he had been out. Out. As in not conscious. What had he been doing? He did not have the right to be out that long.

"And what about Shuunske-sama? Is he okay? Any other news on the shinigami outside?"

"Shuunske is fine. He was only out for about three days due to a rieatsu exhuastion that drained him more than he ahd ever thought possible. Other than that fatigue, he is fine, and ready for you to wake sir."

The shinigami took a pause.

"As far as the other shinigami, as you probably know, all the 11th division shinigami have been killed. Shuunske-sama ahs brought them back for annalysis, and we are still in the process of decripting the rieatsu patterns. It is difficult as it seems none of these men were killed in the shikai form of the enemy. At that, harldy any were even touched with the sword at all. So trying to decode anything is hard to say the least. Because it is only us left, Shuunske-sama ordered for others to be brought here from the 11th division, but the communications have been completely cut off and we have no communication at all. Signal has been lost somehow. Because of this, we are here alone until we can regain communication with Soul Society. Is this thurough enough Kasumi-san?"

Kasumi's eyes were wide by the end of the report. Not a single shinigami had survived at all? None? How was that possible, and most were killed without a sword. How powerful was their enemy. Looking down at his bandage and blood stained old bandages in the trash can at the other end of the room, his question was answered. Very powerful. And only two had been reported. The one Hiiro and he had been fighting, and the one Shuunske had reported fighting.

Two shinigami that could do all of this? That was rare.

"Oh. And Kasumi-san, the shinigami that you reffered to as the outside shinigami, are nearing our location, quickly. It seems they are tracking us back to the base. We estimate that at this rate they will find the location of this base in about two to three days. I will report to Shuunske-sama now about your recovery."

The shinigami left the room with a bow, followed by the other two shinigami that also bowed. They were once again alone, Hiiro and himself as soon as the door closed.

Kasumi looked back at Hiiro. You wanna help my get up Hiiro-chan?

6-reawaken-The next fight Empty
PostSubject: Re: 6-reawaken-The next fight   6-reawaken-The next fight I_icon_minitimeThu Jul 29, 2010 5:35 am

Still shaking quietly in his arms. Hiiro remained still, holding him close, her heartbeat quickened and she opened her eyes, listening to his words. That She didn’t feel she deserved. Such words of incredible kindness, it took her a moment to let his words sink in, that couldn’t have been right. Every word he said to her felt like a lie to her. That it was simply impossible for anyone to think of her like that.

But his words were sincere; She didn’t need to look at him to know what his expression must have been. Holding her close, with such kind words. All of the pain she held inside, melted away. Resting quietly she never wanted to leave his arms.

Hiiro opened her mouth to speak. God it should be illegal for her to love him this much, and have him never know. She wanted to tell him, but words never came, choked off by the same worries that silenced her before. Her heart pounded lightly, she worried if he could feel it against his own chest.

“I-I” Her words came and then suddenly left her again with that one little word. Her voice was silenced in her throat like all of her worries had grabbed onto those simple three words and pulled them back down into the depths of her heart. But new words arose. And once more an embarrassed smile spread onto her face.

“I’ll always be here.” She murmured against him, Her voice still soft. But she was close enough so she knew he would be able to hear him. She heard the steady beep of Kasumi’s heart rate increasing ever so slightly. So the soft pattering rhythm took a small notch higher, going faster, and indicating that he was what? Nervous? She smiled a bit wider at that thought, and pulled away from him, as their hug broke she had found her self now, sitting on the bed next to him. Rather then the chair by his bedside.

She gave a small happy sigh and rested her head on her shoulder, her whole right arm supporting most of the weight of her body as she leaned against it. She watched him happily as he took the few moments to inspect the devices attached to him. Watched every small suddenly movement of his face as he pieced together that they were reading his vitals and that he was attached to them via the wires in his arms.

Hiiro didn’t say a word when he pulled the needles out of his arm; her guess was that it was his heart rate because what was the steady rhythm became one shrill line of sound. A red light blipped and some sort of horn sounded, making Hiiro jump in surprise before holding her chest and laughing at her reaction.

Taking a moment Hiiro stopped her laughter when the 12th division shinigami hurried into the room. Panting quickly before they straightened there bodies and almost held their breath to stop there racing hearts, and try to get their breathing back to normal. Hiiro laughed inwardly. How many times has Muriasachi-sama yelled at somebody for breathing to loudly? She raised an eyebrow, being able to picture the man doing that far to easily.

“Oh no, please…don’t thank me.” Hiiro’s eye’s darkened and she held up her hands, sitting up straight. “I hope I don’t ever have to cause anybody that much pain in the name of saving them again…it was hardly a kind thing to do.” She glanced to kasumi, the sadness and guilt she had before shone in her eyes.

It tore her up inside, being thanked for the most horrible thing she had ever done to somebody in her life. If things didn’t get worse. She looked up buck to the Shinigami, and listened as he told kasumi the situation and the events that transpired while he was asleep.

How many times had she heard the situation told to her? Seven, eight times? Hiiro lost count and the soft brown eyes that had just moments before held joy, carried shame and sadness, now were cast to the ground as she listened to the horrible situation for the ninth time.

They were alone. Horribly and painfully alone in this safe house with the enemy fast approaching. Kasumi, Hiiro, and Shuunske were the last of the 11th division that was still alive, and with no contact to the rest of the Gotei Thirteen there was no hope of help or reinforcements. And the enemy that they were facing was still vastly unknown.

Hiiro had on several occasions scene the corpses of the falling 11th division. Helping however she could. More then once had she stumbled into an autopsy and scene the carnage first hand, and spread open on a metal table. Hiiro hated that they knew so little about something so great. She did what she could. Describing the strange Female shinigami with eye’s that craved blood and death.

She listened to Shuunske explain his encounter with the shadowed figure that so easily matched Shuunske in a fight. The force they were up against seemed to know everything about them. And yet, they knew nothing in return.

She thanked the Shinigami softly and bobbed her head in farewell to them as they closed the door. She didn’t move for a while, her eyes falling upon the corner of the door where the Shinigami had left. From her expression anyone could see that she was lost in thought, but her thoughts were not happy. Her mouth was formed to a small frown and her eye’s looked half lidded and sad.

“I keep hoping.” She spoke up quietly after a few moments of silence, once her silence was disrupted by his question. “ That they are joking. And we aren’t actually alone out here. That, they just wanted to see how we would react to this sort of a situation.” She Looked to him, her eyes were glassy.

“I wish Kifuume-kun was here.” She spoke her voice was becoming choked with emotions. “He always knew what to do and when he didn’t he didn’t care.” She stood up and faced kasumi, offering a small smile, showing that she was going to be ok.

“Maybe, when you’re starting to feel better, we can train a little. I don’t want you having to protect me all the time.” There was a hint of teasing in her voice. “And another thing.” She cracked a smile now, resting her hand upon his. She leaned foreword and kissed him gently upon the forehead. “Thank you, for coming back to me.” She murmured softly before taking his arm and draped it over her shoulders. Positioning herself next to him she placed her arm gingerly upon his torso, careful not to touch or hurt any of his wounds held tightly under the white wraps.

His eyes went over the paper numerous times, not even reading it, in a sort of trance. He was so new at becoming a captain, and yet this was his first task. He had not handled anything well yet. All he had done was lost all of his men in one assault, and had his vice captain injured. He had also lost control of his emotions in front of his 5th seat. What was this? This was not the royal and elite Shuunske that he nor others new as the legend and most famous captain.

The paper red his instructions for this mision but he had not expected that the enemy was strong enough to wipe him clean of all his men in one attack, and now the enemy was growing closer. Kasumi had only a couple days to heal otherwise he would not be included in the fighting force. Hiiro was not at the level of the other shinigami and could become a liability.

Furthermore, Muriasachi was going to have to be included, and Jun as well. Neither were fighting based shinigami, but both of which could fight. Muriasachi would be a good person to have in a fight like this, as he, and Shuunske alike, were both considered genuises and that was needed when fighting against strong enemies with unknown abilties, and origins.

Shuunske flipped the paper to see the profile status of Kasumi. He was strong, but not in his current state. Shuunske looked over everything on the page. Fighting ability. Kido ability. Speed and movement, and over all stats. He was a powerful vice captain. But weakened.

Shuunske stood up in his seat, picturing the battle field. It was hard to say what would and would not be useful in battle against opponents that he knew nothing about. All he knew was the basic speed and kido and strength of both, and that was still only based on short and confusing encounters.

Walking to the other corner of the room, Shuunske viewed paper underneath. Hiiro. Shuunske smiled. A 5th seat that was able to live through an encounter with that girl. That was something. Even if Kasumi had been there to protect her with his life. It was special. This being said, all Hiiro was at this point was potential as far as the battle field. She ahd been taken right out of the academy and put into his division. She had sone well in her kido classes and academic classes but she had never been to gifted with a sword. She was naturally quick however, and a faster runner than most, and thus could be taught well by kasumi in the art of the assassination tactics from squad three.

Shuunske smiled again. Hiiro was never bad at hand to hand, and thus the hand to hand style accompanied by super speed might make her quite powerful, and hard to match.

But those two he knew about. Muriasachi and Jun, along with the other 12th division members that were brought he knew nothing about. Looking at the page on Jun, he reviewed everything. However there was little. It seemed that Muriasachi did not allow the members of his division to show case their abilities, and kept them almost secret. Jun was an amazing student in school, and, like Hiiro, lacked the sword abilities too their greatest potential, but made up for it in kido. Little was known on her zanpakutou abilities. But he had gathered enough about her to fill the blanks on what the paper did not fill.

She had the ability to use transmutations on her own sword. It could come in handy in the near future. Shuunske had only seen it happen once, the activation of her ability, not the actualy ability being used. She had activated ehr sword ability to Muriasachi attacked Shuunske trying to prove that he was not worth being a captain, but Shuunske had beaten him so easily that she had not had time to use it, and was smart enough to know that there was no chance on her fighting him and standing a chance. The blade had become longer, and small circles had appeared on it up and down the blade. He had counted about seven. He knew the basics on transmutation circles, and that they were used to bring other things into existance. So he guessed she could bring about seven things into reality in her shikai form. Her bankai would be amazing when she mastered it. If she mastered it.

Before Shuunske had anymore time to think, he heard footsteps. And within another second his door was opened, and two shinigami came in, and kneeled, one hand on the ground in the shape of a fist.

"Captain Shuunske-sama."

"Yes?"

"Kasumi seems to have awoken from his coma."

"Should we take you to him?" Said the other said in just as much of a monotone voice.

Shuunske's face lit up from the quiet contemplating face he was wearing before. Kasumi was finally awake. This was a step forward.

"Yes please. Take me to him now."

Shuunske dropped the papers on the table by his right side. The other two shinigami stood and walked out, followed closely by Shuunske. They walked fast and in less than a minute Shuunske was at the door of Kasumi's medical bay.

Pulling the door open, Shuunske stepped in excitedly to see that it was true. Kasumi sat up in bed, Hiiro with him. Shuunske smiled. There was hope. He just had to open his eyes to it.

"Kasumi!"

Shuunske stopped as he saw Hiiro with hurt in her eyes, a self inflicted hurt that seemed to swallow her, with the happiness showing as well, just as bright, only harder to see. What was she thinking. Shuunske took a step back, almost reserved.

He bowed his head and smiled. He was happy to see that Hiiro and Kasumi were reunited. And happy to see him awake again. Hiiro sat next to him, her arm rapped around him.

"... I am glad to see you awake Kasumi-san."

Kasumi felt as Hiiro's hands made it around his waist. Love overflowed from him and his lips moved to say those three forbidden words. "I.. I.."

Kasumi was interupted by the door opening once more, and another two shinigami from the 12th division stepping in. Kasumi was both relieved and disapointed. He did not think he would have been able to bring himself to say anything substantual but he liked to believe that he might have but he was interupted.

Still, the 12th division members seemed to have the worst timing. His soft dorky smile melted away into a more of a frown as he saw the skinny men that looked pale from lack of sunlight on abundance of computer light. They were so pale infact that their skin looked almost transparent, and their blue veins shone through. What Muriasachi had turned these men into was not morally right. Kasumi's fist clenched, trying to hold a polite posture, before his emotions once again shed off.

Shuunske walked through the door, the light that seemed to follow him followed. He walked with all the grace of the shinigami, his small body carrying more power than himself and all other men of his calibor. He wore a smile that meant he had been thinking, which transformed into a straight forward smile upon seeing Kasumi, like that of his age groups origin. A pure innocent smile that made the room glow with a warm feeling.

"Kasumi," he said calmly, his smile still growing. Kasumi wished that he could swear to protect Shuunske as well, but Shuunske would not accept. Not on the battle field. But from all of the evils that turned boy to man and innocence to ruggedness.

He could not answer. He sat there dumb founded and could only manage a smile, a smile that in no way competed with Shuunske's cute petit perfection. Shuunske saw the situation as it was and spoke again.

"... I am glad to see you awake Kasumi-san"

Kasumi wanted to hug the little boy that he was glad to call his captain, a prince among nobles, and the strongest man on the battle field, with a critial mind for thinking and one of the smartest most clever people he knew.

"Shuunske-sama... I am glad to be back."

The 12th divisoin shinigami bowed and left as they were no longer needed as the transporters of Shuunske, not that they were even needed for that. Only to keep up the customs of royalty.

Kasumi moved his hand and placed it on Hiiro's.

"I am glad to be back. We ahve a lot to do it seems like, and I will do my best to keep up."
